The primary access to Herman Village during that time was via the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway. Now, called the Canadian National railway, a section of this railway, passes through the property. There are trails throughout the varied terrain property, and the boundaries of the parcel has been blazed and marked. The area provides excellent black bear, whitetail deer, and grouse hunting. The eastern border of this property is adjacent to thousands of acres of Federal Land, and the south end is bordered by Corporate CFA Lands for walk-in access to year round hunting, trapping, and fishing. Daults Creek passes through the eastern side of the property for some awesome trout fishing at your own land! This creek originates in the "high country". Its waters flow north-westerly to join (with six other creeks) the Falls River, about two miles south of its mouth, and then flows into Lake Superior.
